Who Ever Could Have Imagined
That the most powerful man in the world was not the president, but the guy who loads his teleprompter? Seriously, in eight years, did George W. Bush read the wrong speech to the Irish Prime Minister, and thank himself for giving a dinner? Or make a retard joke on Leno?
We have elected a mountebank for a president. Arrogant, brash and uncouth. A moron with a gift for reading whatevers put in front of him. We elected Ron Burgundy president.

Somehow, you know this is going to end in "Go F*&% yourself, San Diego."

Hold the Mayo...And the BS
It is an article of faith amongst the Democrat party that the Republican party only wins elections when it scares people. Recent blogging by Rep. John Mayo merely confirms this. In his Clarion-Ledger blog recently he posted that the Republican party only wins by fear: Fear of gays (someone tell him about his state party chairman's stance on Liberace and Elton John), fear of terrorism (yeah, because we all just collectively dreamt what happened in Mumbai recently), fear of abortionists (because the only people who should fear them haven't been born yet!)...eh, you get it.
Never mind a couple of things:
1) Democrats have maintained consitutencies through fear for ages. To the old, they tell them that their Social Security will be confiscated by Mitch McConnell and John Boehner. To the minority, they talk about losing voting rights and priviledges. To women, they prey on the fear of men doing icky things to their women parts. To the young, they tell them to fear they'll be forced to war.
2) Most of these 'fears' aren't founded in boogeyman superstition and bumps in the night. The fears are rooted in a group of people who seek to change the very structure and foundation of our culture and society. People aren't concerned about an abstract thing called terrorism (mostly because for the last 7 1/2 years some of us have actually been concerned about it, unlike, apparently, Rep. Mayo). We watched as an entire city was held hostage by willful, brutish men not two weeks ago. I'm not afraid of an idea, sir, I am afraid of people acting out that idea. The same for the cultural, moral, and ethical questions about abortion.
I'm sure Rep. Mayo would enjoy telling his constituents (who, after all, are the same clingy bitter people his presidential candidate pontificated on several months ago) how they're so stupid as to keep falling for professional liars and cheats. I mean, what kind of idiot would those people elect?
Oh, wait.

Barry Messiah on our Essentially Flawed Constitution
On the Supreme Court:
"It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution."
"...as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical."
"...the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth"
"I think there was a tendancy to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalition of powers through which you bring about redistributive change."

Murtha Gets Comeuppance
SNL has decided to turn its gaze to him and the equally loquacious Joe Biden.
To a nicer guy, it couldn't happen. I hope on election night the Haditha Marines get a good laugh at your expense. God knows because of you they've earned it.

Timeout for You, Sir
Obama's people don't believe that their man is in danger of losing the election. Today, from Team C.H.A.N.G.E.:
http://news.yahoo.com/story//nm/20080909/pl_nm/usa_politics_women_dc
His campaign manager, David Plouffe, was more pointed when asked about the findings at a briefing on Monday, telling a Washington Post reporter, "Your poll is wrong."Later, Plouffe told the same reporter that he was a "stupid-head" and a "crock of poo-poo." At that point James Carville put him in the corner.

Its True: Barry Has Learned From Clinton
Barry told us earlier in the week, when describing how tough he was to subsist on hotel food for eighteen months, that because he'd gone up against Hilary Clinton in the primaries, that he was experienced.
And apparently he's learned from Hil-Rod, who once claimed to have inquired about joining the Marines in her youth (I hear you laughing out there. C'mon, she was serious! Honest!). The Messiah told George Steph today that he thought about joining the military in his youth.
(This is also the same interview where he talked about his "Muslim faith." Way to stop those secret Muslim rumors, Barry. I'm waiting for the inevitable blaming of the campaign staffer.)
I'd make a joke about the Clintons teaching him how to break his political opponents legs, like his surrogates have tried to do to Governor Palin, but he is tied up with those savery Chicago characters like Tony Rezko, Saddam's cousin, the Ayers-Dorhn clan, and the cast of thousands that is his church. He didn't need the Clintons to learn how to be a legbreaker.

How Did I Miss This?
Jay Nordlinger of National Review points out:
Oh, God, Jay, what if GWB had said it? Add that to the list of gaffes nobody calls him on.
"...he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.” Um, there’s actually only one president on the dollar bill. If Quayle had said that . . .
