A Sonnet For Obama

By Robert Allgeyer (Hat tip, John Derbyshire of National Review Online)

OBAMA SPEAKETH

I see enthusiastic youth arranged,
In legions for the future of the nation;
And elderly conservatives deranged,
By Clinton, whom I'm sending on vacation.

O, let us come together, hand in hand,
Dispensing with the soldier and the hater;
Progressivism triumphs in the land!
Though details of my policy come later.

I'll tax and spend as often as I dare;
For that, I'll need Congressional approval;
A little from the voters, here and there,
But most of it from equity removal.

Audaciously succeed! We know we can;
And if we fail, just blame it on The Man.
