So Let Me Get This Right
Gas has dropped to under $3 in and around the Jackson Metro, and NOW Samson wants to investigate gas price gouging? One month ago the average gas price in Mississippi was 3.87; a week ago it was 3.34; yesterday it was 3.02.
He wonders why people joke about his propensity to only investigate murders that are 40 years old while ignoring the ones happening right down the street from his office.

Emergency! Emergency!

Change You Can't Make Up
The Secular Messiah determines that 'limited' drilling offshore is on the table. Of course, he's always been in favor of drilling. Drilling will open up our own oil supplies, reduce the price of oil, put a dent into our dependence on foreign oil, and help reign in speculation. All of this is undebateable.
How very big of you-it's not your fault that you had to break even slightly with the only thing that resembles a religion amongst the left these days. If you'll remember, drilling wouldn't do anything to save people money because it wouldn't produce any oil for five years. We should have invested in all those green energy sources, driven less, and made sure our tires were inflated.
But I must be mis-remembering things. Barry Messiah has always been in favor of drilling. Even as Oceania is still at war with Eastasia.

I Don't Know What I'd Do...
...without YP. Really, it's like going to Wal-Mart (or Costco, maybe even Whole Foods for all you guys who work for Rep. Whiplash, since I want you guys to feel at home here). Every time you think you're just going there to see what's up, you find something really useful.
Rep. Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia started a petition in the House to allow offshore drilling. He approached Rep. Whiplash about the petition, and got a big, fat, stinky no from the mustachioed one-as well as Rep. Taylor. So much for wanting 'lower gas prices.' I guess suing OPEC will make it that much cheaper, huh?

Congressman Whiplash Acts on Drilling...
Yet still believes in the hocus-pocus of ethanol. It's almost like believing in Santa Claus, if Santa makes your cereal more expensive and ruins the milk.
The billions spent in Iraq are nothing compared to the black hole that is the ethanol subsidy.
Edited to add: Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid refuses to allow the exploration ban to be lifted. Nan From San Fran says release strategic petroleum (not realizing that those barrells, by law, must be replaced). But goll-ee, Snidely, you sure are proud to be a Dem, the party of the working man.

You will note that instead of saying one time that we might need to drill for a little of our own domestic oil, Rep. Whiplash says that we need to regulate, investigate, and keep throwing away money on ethanol (which has made food prices go up). Notice he never says anything, either, about importing Brazilian sugar-based ethanol (which is ready to go RIGHT NOW, though limited by law to 7% of our ethanol imports) and will not raise the price of food at all, since sugar isn't as necessary an ingredient in making bread, or in feeding livestock.
Plus it can be made in Louisiana and Florida. That's good for our fellow southern states.
