Murtha Gets Comeuppance

SNL has decided to turn its gaze to him and the equally loquacious Joe Biden.

To a nicer guy, it couldn't happen. I hope on election night the Haditha Marines get a good laugh at your expense. God knows because of you they've earned it.

From Jim Treacher...

Some possible questions from Gwen Ifill, so totally not invested in Barack Obama's victory and impartial moderator of Thursdays Veep Debate:

Biden Speaks Again...

"The fact of the matter is, the only thing succeeding in Iraq right now is the plan that Barack and I talked about that Petraeus is implementing -- giving local control in the very areas with a limited central government."

So when was the complete pullout started? Did I miss this? When did Iraq get divided into three ethnic states?

Lies, damned lies, but no statistics. Woe be unto the press member who reports this Plugs whopper.

If They Do Cancel the Debates...

Maybe Joe Biden, after the week he's had, can simply fill in for both candidates.

Seriously, Plugs needs to figure it out. First he's for coal in Virginia, then against it in Pennsylvania (shouldn't he maybe remember, since he was born in Scranton-what, haven't you heard?-that coal is big in Western PA?). Then the Obama ads on McCain's age and injuries were terrible. Then there was his helicopter adventure in Afghanistan that wasn't. Then there was his meanderings about President Roosevelt (1933-45) going on TV in 1929 (when TV wasn't commercially available).

Thanks for putting Plugs in there, Barry.

You Know, I Did It As A Joke

Barry Obama, Peace Be Upon Him, recently said he'd been the author of the Stimulus Package that went into effect over the summer. He was so instrumental, in fact, that he didn't even show up to vote on the measure, as he's been campaigning for President for about 2/3 of his Senate career (which is almost as much as Joe Biden has-badum-ching! Hey, remember Joe Biden?). If I was still doing the "Claim of the Day," this would be a good one to chalk up.

But why is it like this with Dems? Can't they just talk without the grandiose posturing and fact-stretching? Whether it was Misadventures on a Helicopter (Hil-Rod and Biden), Inventing the Internet, Christmas in Cambodia, or the numerous whoppers that the Golden Boy has served up, they all seem to want to be such a part of history that they write themselves in when there's no need to.

Obama is no different. He said his parents were brought together by the March on Selma-except he was 4 when it happened. Then there was the bill his Banking Committee authored...except he's not on the Senate Banking Committee. Kennedy and Kruschev had tea and crumpets and prevented WWIII...except the meeting actually made the Cuban Missile Crisis worse. The Berlin Wall was brought down by people working together (I suppose as long as he's talking about Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, Margaret Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II, he's right).

It's a pathological need of Dems, one that I can't understand. Of course, most of them don't really understand history, so what can you expect when they invent their own?

With a Big Doff O' The Cap...

I link to you Conservative Belle, who chimes in with zingers to Jamie Franks Jr.:

http://conservativebelle.blogspot.com/

Its amazing how in a week Obama and his surrogates have taken to comparing a VP candidate to their standard-bearer and Messiah. John McCain's qualifications are now unassailable.

Dare I say it: Mission Accomplished.

Not To Be Outdone...

Joe Biden yesterday suggested prosecuting the Bush administration for its crimes.

I love Joe Biden's mouth. It's almost as fun as that of one Jamie Franks Jr.

You Burn 'Em Rudy

"If I were Joe Biden, I'd get that VP thing in writing."

Nobody else could give this speech except a New Yorker. He's tearing it up.

EDIT: "I have some advice for Senator Obama. Next time, call John McCain."

EDITED AGAIN: I am now ready to go eat nails. Good work, Rudy. Now comes the lady herself...

He Speaks Again

Did I mention that the Democrat party making Jamie Franks Jr. its state chairman was made of awesome?

On Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's experince in this mornings Clarion-Ledger:

"(McCain) wants voters to elect a former part-time mayor of a town of 6,715 people - a person with absolutely no foreign policy and national security experience - to be a heartbeat away from the presidency," he said. He said Sen. Joe Biden, Obama's running mate, has much more foreign policy experience.

Yet just one year ago, we were asked to elect a back-benching, do-nothing, self-aggrandizing, Osama-suing state legislator with no experience as an executive (or even experience in the state senate!) to the office of Lt. Governor. (Does anyone outside of Mooreville-Mr. Franks hometown-know that its not even an incorporated village? It's an unorganized community! You're bashing a woman for being from small-town America and you live there!) And now they're asking us to elect a part-time Senator and full-time Media Celebrity President.

Left unmentioned is the fact that Sarah Palin, as a mayor and governor of Alaska, has more executive experience than Barry or Plugs Biden. The foreign policy jab is hilarious-yeah, let's have that debate. Let's debate Sarah Palin's foreign policy experience when compared to, say, the top of the Democrat ticket. Unless throngs of screaming Germans is your litmus test of foreign policy experience, we can have that debate all day long.

How Will We Ever Compete?

Surely we cannot stand up to the one-two punch of the Most Smarterest Men in the World? (Just ask them!)

Let me go on record as suggesting a time limit for Biden at the VP debate.

Seven Eleven

Joe "7-11" Biden becomes the latest Democrat to stick his foot in his mouth over national security (hint, boys and girls: You aren't going to win on the issue. Please continue to try to use it, though. It's funny to me when you try). The quote, as provided by ABC News:

“If John (McCain) wants to know where the bad guys live, come back with me to Afghanistan. We know where they reside. And it's not in Iraq.”

I just love it when our troops in Iraq aren't facing real bad guys. This of course ignores the fact that al-Qaeda believes that Iraq is the central front in the war. I realize that the Democratic fetish has turned from Iraq-as-Vietnam to Iraq-is-over-now-to-Afghanistan. But the situation is still fragile, and could be reversed rather quickly. It's a shame that in a rush to get past Iraq (which has become a loser position for them) the Dems have shifted to this mode.

To deny that Iraq is pacified is illogical; and to deny the fact that there are still Baathists, insurgents, and al-Qaeda there is even more so.
